Who We Are

Save Our Smokies, Inc is an all volunteer organization that removes litter and graffiti from public lands. We partner with USFS, Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP) and local and state parks. Since our founding in 2020, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring volunteers together to reduce the negative impact human overuse and destruction has on public lands.

What We Do

Making A Difference

Litter Removal

Save Our Smokies is dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Through donations from supporters, we provide all needed tools and supplies to our volunteer teams. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support. We collect, bag, weigh and properly dispose of litter in parking areas, overlooks and roadsides.

Graffiti Removal

We are excited to be adding specialized teams to perform removal of graffiti. We begin training with GSMNP in the spring of 2022 to learn how the National Park Service performs graffiti removal.  Through some generous donors, we have obtained a pressure washer trailer for this mission.
